About Me
The lockdowns provided an opportunity for reflection, leading me to
pursue a more stimulating career path. While I cherished the small
business I successfully owned and operated for over a decade, I felt
it was time for a new challenge. I enrolled in a Bachelor of
Information Technology and am now in my final year. For the last
eighteen months, I have been studying full time, firstly to take a
break from being a business owner and secondly to enjoy being a
full-time student and to completely immerse myself in my studies.
I supplemented this study break by completing numerous IT accelerator
courses, such as the Salesforce Developer Accelerator through Mission
Ready, the AWS re/Start program through Unitec and the AWS She Builds
CloudUp Cloud Practitioner and Solutions Architect - Associate
certification programs. After completing AWS Deep Racer, I applied and
was accepted into the AWS AI Programming with Python scholarship
program that accepts 2000 students annually. After graduating from
that course, the top 500 students become eligible to complete a
further AWS Machine Learning Fundamentals Scholarship program, which
comes with a 6-month AWS AIML mentorship program from July - December
2024. I also used my study break to obtain numerous industry
certifications.
I'm now approaching the end of my degree, and with the knowledge
gained from the courses and certifications I've completed which
include 10 AWS certifications, Salesforce, Jira and VMware
certifications, I look forward to starting the next chapter. My
previous business involved importing and wholesale distribution of
interior products, acting as an agent for multiple international
manufacturing companies, and providing outfitting services and
interior design services. I am excited to leverage the competencies I
developed over that time and combine them with my newfound skill set.
When not studying or working, I enjoy long-distance walking, listening
to audiobooks, travelling with friends, cooking, dancing, attempting
to grow vegetables, and savouring a good glass of wine.
